3S Designs (Stroke Survivor Silks) was established in 2014. We are a family owned floral business that delivers beautiful handmade silk flower arrangements

I started floral design 25 years ago when I got married. It has been my passion ever since. In 1996 I bought a flower shop which started my passion for flowers and design. In 2000 I ended up selling my flower shop due to the fact that I had to raise three kids. After a few years passed and my children began to grow older, I started to miss the thrill of owning a business and being around flowers all the time. In 2007 I bought and owned my second flower shop. When the economy crashed in 2008 along with the rapid increase of online companies, I had no other choice but to close my business in 2011. 

If you think my journey ends there, think again! Being a mother of three it was my duty to help my husband financially support our family. I went to work full time at a local craft store as the main floral designer for silk arrangements. Although missing the fragrance of fresh flowers, I still had the joy of working with silk flowers and continuing with floral design. 

In 2012 my life took an unexpected turn. I had a massive stroke that year which caused tremendous setbacks. The stroke destroyed the right side of my brain, thus leaving me with left side paralysis. With a lot of help from physical therapy and support from my family, I was able to overcome that obstacle life threw at me. After a few months of recovery, I was allowed to work part time at the local craft store still designing floral arrangements, but this time with only the mobility of one hand. To my joy, the management and customers still loved my work.

With the struggles the stroke has left me with, I have decided to try and sell my designs online with the help of my mother. My mom has been with me through all the years of the flower businesses, she loves it just as much as I do. She helps me with the designs when it is absolutely necessary to have a second hand to do something.
